Power Ratings - After Week 2

You know 'em, you love 'em, you print them out and use them as toilet paper. Time for the POWER RATINGS! #1 - Saskatchewan - Undefeated, including a win over the defending champs... so they gotta be tops #2 - Montreal - The aforementioned defending champs, and while they've lost one it was an OT hea...

Re: MLS & Toronto FC Cannot Survive

I don't doubt the novelty will wear off... a lot of it already has. But they have a solid base and according to the league have turned a profit in all three of their years (and are the only team that can claim that, in fact no other team has done it more than once in that time, though I suspect Seat...

Re: MLS & Toronto FC Cannot Survive

In fact after compiling a full spreadsheet on it, that game against Vancouver was the only game they're ever announced less than 18K. Which, like you said was in a downpour, and a nothing game too boot. Speaking of the weather... I still question the logic of building that stadium on the lake like t...

Re: MLS & Toronto FC Cannot Survive

Even if you include the exhibition games they're still averaging 19,887... hardly the "lucky to get 18,000 at most games"... in fact that game against Vancouver was the only time attendance was below 18,000, and it's only been below 20K one other time. As per all the empty seats around midfield, the...

Re: Re:

You are correct IM, I give them and the league 2-3 years max before it folds. Your "3 years max" is fast approaching (just a tad over 4 months left now), and last I checked the MLS still seems to be going strong... actually will be adding a couple more Canadian markets after you figured they'd be l...

Re: 2010 Rule Changes

I wish they would have just tweaked OT by making the teams start at the 50 or 55. The problem had nothing to do with TD's, it's that FG's are a gimme... so back 'em up and make them earn it and/or kick from further out, I think that would do more to eliminate ties than what they ended up doing.

Look on the bright side, the Rider nation can now call themselves the "14th Man" and have that slogan all to themselves... :rotf:

Wow, what a view!

I wonder if some fans will be too keen to return to BC Place, even a remodeled one... some may just want to stay at Empire

Re: nfl slaps cfl BIGTIME!!!!!

I don't see what the problem is, really. Those who will want to watch the Argos will watch the Argos. The game (TOR/MTL) is played in Montreal, so it's not like they are robbing the Argos of home game revenue by scheduling it the day before/after Toronto in the same building or anything. I say if y...

Re: Sean Lucas was the 13th man !

But just think about all those hours of "studying" that could have been saved!

As per what to do with him, how do we know for sure it's his fault? Maybe it was one of the coaches that screwed up and told him to be out there. Until we know the entire story, vilifying someone seems quite rash.

Re: Rogers Sportsnet and The Score

Now that I think of it, Sportsnet did have a couple guys set up hosting shows from Calgary at least one night... they did several features, including a very moving piece about Tony Proudfoot and his struggles with ALS
