Re: CFL SALARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDES COST CERTAINTY

Why was Stu Foord placed on the one-game injured list to start the season, when he ripped Edmonton up in the 2nd pre-season game, got a carry late in the 4th quarter, and was NOT hurt? And why was Dalton Bell signed late in the year, activated (to become the 4th quarterback on the 46-man roster) on...

Re: CFL SALARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDES COST CERTAINTY

makes no sense to argue with you since you can't understand the difference between an SMS/luxury tax versus a hard cap. Nothing done was wrong, the fine or tax is being paid. This is different from when we had the "hard cap" that was never enforced in the 80's/90's where the other teams used PSCs a...

Re: CFL SALARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDES COST CERTAINTY

What are you talking about? We just got outbid on McKenzie and Lloyd... And the reason why is? You were over the SMS last year right so how could you possibly sign them when your over the SMS. Who is going to go this year? Or maybe some of the moves lately was for that purpose. Every team is going ...

Re: CFL SALARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDES COST CERTAINTY

Cohon is wrong, the only reason why the Riders went over was because of injuries. You just want any excuse to bash. Too bad you can't see the forest through the trees, 05. Replacing 2nd and 3rd stringers on the scale that the Riders did, and to be only 87K over, is a great job done by the team's ma...

Re: CFL SALARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM PROVIDES COST CERTAINTY

It's not cheating if you get fined. The Riders broke the cap and will pay for it. That's fine by me. I support the cap, and was a big proponent of one before it was brought in. I'm not going to defend my team for going over, and now they pay for that decision. Hence why there is a SMS, so teams get...

Re: NFL To Shut Down In 2011?

With the poor ticket sales for the Pro Bowl in Hawaii I don't know why they would rush back. At first I had heard that the Pro Bowl was leaving Hawaii for at least two years. This year I believe the Pro Bowl was blacked out in Hawaii due to the lack of tickets sold. Plus that stadium there at UHawa...

Re: NFL To Shut Down In 2011?

They are also planning on moving the Pro-Bowl to the Superbowl host city and having it during the bye week between conference championship and superbowl weekend. Whatever, the probowl sucks anyhow, not like I will watch anyhow It's just for this year - they're pretty close to a deal for the Pro Bow...

Re: NFL To Shut Down In 2011?

IIRC the discussion included cutting down the preseason from 3 to 2 games, and adding 2 regular season games Didn't seem to be what they were implying on PTI... they were talking about adding the two and playing the Super Bowl around Presidents Day, effectively two weeks later then currently. But I...

Re: Rule Changes Announced

All those changes and non-changes sound great to me. Kudos to the League, the Commish and the Rules Committee for allowing fan input, and taking it seriously. One question - what's a "wildcat offense"? A running back or receiver lines up in the shotgun behind center and the QB splits out wide. It w...
