Hi D (and all) !
I'm considering the implementation of an intranet at my job. Bulletin Boards like phpBB looks like a pretty good option, but then I see other tools specifically named CMS solutions like Joomla! , Drupal ....
I would like to ear advices about what is the difference between BB and CMS (if there's any), and what you think I should experiment.

TIA !

a bb is a discusion format ... like this site

a cms can contain a bb but also give you the abilty to add additional content .... if I had a bunch of writers for this site I would probably go to a CMS giving them the ability to add and format thier content (articles)

I don't know were your skill set is at but my advice would be to stick with something a lot of others are using as it will be easier to get help

Thanks D for your input.

I think it will end up with some Joomla experimentation this summer.

If you're looking for Joomla advice, BBbob is the man to talk to. He's pretty much an expert with Joomla, as well as integrating a message board into it as well.
