Grey Cup Prediction Thread

Post by D » Sat Jun 18, 2005 1:13 am

Do we have a GC prediction thread? ... I didn't see one so :juggle:

I'll take the Lions :cross: :roar:

They have the offence and I think they have the talent on D to pull it together and make it happen .... Special Teams are a concern but I'm optimistic about that to

So there ya go ... big surprise I'm picking my team :o

You all have to admit the Lions are a formidable opponent ... in fact we should just start the parade now

Come on D!

We all know it's going to be a rematch.(given)
I think the old man on our side "DA" has 1 more year to prove himself.

With our D (not related to you) and DA on a mission we will remain as GreyCup champs.

I think Fido even says so.

PS not a very good tunout at the parade, was it held in Toronto

With kicking as the only real unknown, the Als didn't rebuild in the off season, they reloaded.

Even if Calvillo gets injured, I think Ted White has more than enough receiving and running options to step in and do a decent job. The Als o-line is among the best in the league, so protection of the QB is solid.

In OttawaShane fashion, I predict that the Als will go 20-0, dominating the Grey Cup against whatever JV team comes out of the west.

Realistically, I see the Als going 12-6, winning the east and beating Calgary in the GC.
Given your proven record of mind-bogglingly destructive excess, we felt that giving you any more than that, would be like giving Michael Jackson a drum of peanut oil and some cub scouts. Alledgedly.

The Lions must be extremely carefull not to beat themselves as they did last season in the GC, with foolish defence and special teams schemes and game plans...

They must keep in mind that every team in the CFL has significantly improved themselves, as have the Leos.

Only then will they be prepared for the road to the GC!
Champions are never really beaten...

They come from behind to illustrate their dominion!

The Argo will win the GC again, and DA will finally retire after winning it BTB, which would allow him to go out in a blaze of glory. All we have to do is keep Bishop of the field as much as we can. :cross:

In certain years, I would. There are certain weeks, actually that I would not pick the team I root for to win.

You can poke holes in every team. I do think, at this point, BC and Toronto are the most solid, though DAs age is always a concern, followed by Montreal (how's the secondary looking, BTW?) Edmonton, the Riders.

I do think that you could take any of those five, in any East-West combination, and come with the best likelyhood of participants in the Grey Cup. As usual, I'll take whoever ends up with home field in the West against Toronto.

I too, would like to think that BC can beat Toronto in a rematch of the Grey Cup. But seeing is believeing, and I'd like to see the Lions come up with a good enough offensive game plan to overcome the Toronto defense in a convincing fashion. .

You mean, as Ted White proved he could do in the 2004 Eastern Final?

It's the year of the Lion, they will beat the Als at home for the Grey Cup win. Of course, I'll be rooting for the opposite outcome.

Seconded, heh.

I cannot bring myself to make any other pick then Winnipeg, because if it somehow happened I would feel like a complete tool. Even more so then usual, I mean. 8)

But with that said, I expect BC to put up a pretty bloody good season this year. I would say BC would be my second choice, and that's cause I'm biased as hell. 8)
