And now that NASCAR season has started, it makes me miss him even more, because he was one of the few people on here who avidly followed NASCAR as well. This season's not going to be the same. :(

I am sorry to say I have never met Grey Cup Garry. But from hearing many of you speak about Garry I feel cheated not to meet such a fine fan and gentleman. The CFL had only one Grey Cup Garry with his passing will leave a very big space to fill in that loss. My condolences to Garrys family and his CFLfamily as well.

Hi everyone,

I don't frequent 13thman like I used to and this is my first time back here since Grey Cup. This morning I opened up the GreyCupGarry thread for the first time and was expecting to see some funny Photoshop pics or something and needless to say I'm absolutely stunned and deeply saddened to hear of Garry's passing. It just doesn’t seem real that this happy go lucky, ball of energy is no longer with us. I've read all 10 pages of this thread and my eyes were watery throughout. I can only imagine how you guys who hung out with him feel. Pinball attending his funeral speaks volumes of the man and the fan inside. Garry himself probably didn’t even realize what an icon he was to the Argos. His family has reason be very proud.

After Garry's first couple posts here at 13thman I sent him a PM and we found out that we used to frequent the same places in Northern Ontario when I was living there. From that time on we exchanged dozens of PMs throughout the years when I was active here. He was the guy I could always count on to help me build the Survivor Pools. Dorky Boy and Ditzy Girl were his wonderful creations. I always enjoyed doing the avy thing with him whenever the Bombers and Argos played. What an excellent tribute by D to rename the Pub after Garry. That's where Garry could really let loose his humor. Twice I finished 2nd to him for funniest poster in those famous Glenegade awards. Pretty hard to top Garry…lol. Garry was quite good at taking our heads to Photoshop and putting them on other people's bodies but some of us got him back pretty good. Sometimes I would get accused of trolling a bit on football topics but Garry would egg me on at times and tell me " Don’t worry Blitz. I'm a mod. I got your back... " lol. So many GreyCupGarry stories that could be told by all.

My very deepest belated sympathies to his family and all you Argo guys who spent so much time with him at the tailgates and other functions. Garry was way too young to be taken away from his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone. Right now I just can't believe what I read today.

R.I.P. GreyCupGarry

Gord

Wondering if this site would be up to it. But why not have an award named after Garry for the poster the exemplifys Garrys nature for the CFL. Have an award winner after each season.
