I'm no computer expert, so this may not be any help at all, but look around for undelete software.

From what I understand, the chances of you recovering your files is based on the amount you've used your computer since the files were deleted. This is because the files are not actually wiped from your system, but rather the space they occupy on the hard drive has now been marked for overwriting.

Hope that helps.

When you deleted the account you would have had a prompt to save any files, any chance that you chose this option Brian?

If you REALLY need to get those files - do NOT use the system until you run some file recovery software. You can get a shop to do file recovery, but it is generally big bucks and you may not get all the files back.

Another option is the files may be "hidden" in your recycle bin:
First boot into "Safe Mode".
[to get into safe mode, reboot the computer and keep tapping the F8-key.
eventually a system menu will pop up asking you what to do; select Safe Mode]

Then goto your "C:\" drive.
At the top menu select 'Tools' then 'Folder Options'.
Goto 'View' tab.
Under "Files and Folders" -> "Hidden files and folders"
Select "Show hidden files and folders".

Then scroll down a little and 'UNCHECK' "Hide protected operating system files".

Hit 'OK'.

Now in the "C:\" drive you should see the hidden system folder called
"RECYCLER". Inside you can select everything and delete it that should
remove anything from your Recycle Bin(s).

Best of luck Brian.
