If you were back in Biblical times ...

Nothing seems to rile up the masses more than these two topics. As a result you can only talk about either in here. this forum will not be moderated, however if it gets really ugly you can report a post

If you were back in Biblical times ...

Post by Ron » Wed Mar 25, 2009 12:14 am

... and you were there when Jesus said "Ye without sin cast the first stone."

Would you have

a) Cast the first stone?

b) Walk away and not throw?

c) Tell Jesus to hurry up and throw the first stone so we can get on with it?
Contrary to popular belief, the most dangerous animal is not the lion or tiger or even the elephant. The most dangerous animal is a shark riding on an elephant, just trampling and eating everything they see.

Biblical times...

Judging from current world events, we're still still there.

Thus the current relevance of the question.

probably would ask him to get out of the way since he is not the court of law in the land and let the punishment the law set forth be done.

If it was Biblical Canada, the House of Commons would have struck an Inquiry by the Public Accounts Committee, to:

1) define "stone"
2)define the weigh limits of said stone (metric, ofcourse)
3)ensure the stone was in both Official Languages, and that all stones were registered on a national database
4)define"sin"
5) ensure sins were labelled in both Official Languages
6)...and finally, ban this radical Jesus dude from entering Canada to preach, due to His socialist tendencies and disruptive behaviour in the Holy Land.
There are no stupid questions. Only funny ones.

To quote Homer Simpson

"I'm not normally a praying man, but if you're up there, please save me Superman"
As LL Cool J once said "Don't call it a comeback, I've been here for years"

Not true. You'd be a Roman.

And what? Let the Law hand out a weak sentence and follow that up by releasing those convicted once they reach a 1/3 of the already weak sentence served?

Or let an individual with 31 charges against them out on bail to kill 3 individuals (New Years Day in Calgary).

Well I am wondering if you don't understand the law in biblical times.

Because the stoning would have been happening by decree of the law. So that shoots most of your post to heck.
