2010 Predictions

Postby prairiedog » Thu Jul 01, 2010 3:50 pm

Half hour to kickoff, perfect time to get these in.

EAST

Montreal - Duh! But the division is significantly tougher than it was last year, and Keron Williams will be tough to replace. 12-6.

Hamilton - Taking the next step. This is a good football team. Too bad they're in a division with Montreal. 10-8.

Winnipeg - They weren't that bad last year except for the coaching. It may take them a few months to recover from the damage Kelly did, heck maybe the whole year, but if Pierce can make at least 12 starts they should make the playoffs. 9-9.

Toronto - Headed in the right direction but just too far behind. 6-12.

WEST

Edmonton - This division is so tight, 10 wins should do it and Ray looked extremely sharp in the preseason. He could be enough for 10 wins. 10-8.

BC - Lots of changes, but lots oftalent. Could be a tentative start, but should finish strong. Like it or not, Printers looks like he's really is the real thing now. 10-8.

Calgary - Lots of talk about BC's changes on the o-line, but they aint got nothin on Calgary. Way too many question marks here. 8-10.

Saskatchewan - somebody has to be the odd team out and Sask has the biggest hole - defensive line. They have demonstrated that they have NO pass rush whatsoever so far this year. Lost both rush ends to the NFL and replaced them with ... Barrin Simpson? 7-11.

East is kinda set, isn't it? This is the CFL and anything can happen. Here's how I see the east

1. Montreal - best coached team in the league - no offense Wally, but they are

2. Winnipeg - Yeah, I think they're going to surprise some people. Missed the playoffs by one game without a QB last year and a coach that was suspect at best. They now have two QB's (three if you count Brink who's loaded with talent but he has a lot to learn about our game) and a real coach.

3. Toronto - I think that once Lemon settles in he'll be lights out.

4. Hamilton - With the might Kevin Glenn leading them, he'll lead them right back to the basement.

Out West:

1. Edmonton - With Hall taking over the defense we'll be much tougher, and IMO will get more turnovers. We have Lenny Walls - loved him in Wpg he's a monster. Ricky Ray is the arguably the best QB and we have Kelly Campbell back too.

2. Saskatchewan - Still a solid team though if they finished last it wouldn't surprise me

3. Calgary - Will just squeak in

4. B.C. - Printers will prove his time in Hamilton wasn't a fluke. Jarious Jackson will take over too late.

Sask beats Calgary in the West semi

Toronto upsets Wpg in the East Semi

Edm beats SK in the West final

Montreal crushes Toronto in the East final

Edm beats Montreal on the last play that is replayed because of a roughing the passer call on Montreal, making SK fans forget about their gaff last season (and I'll be there to see it :D )

Only game one - but read my Hamilton/Wpg comments again. Not bad for week one, eh?

East:
1. Winnipeg Blue Bombers (13-5)
2. Montreal Alouettes (11-7)
3. Hamilton Tiger-Cats (10-8)
4. Toronto Argonauts - Just a terrible, terrible team. I don't know any better way to describe how bad they are. (2-16)

West:
1. BC Lions (12-6)
2. Edmonton Eskimos (10-8)
3. Calgary Stampeders (7-11)
4. Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-11)

That would make my whole year!! :yahoo: My best hope is for the Argos to play spoiler, winning a critical game or 2 to screw up our east rivals.

My only prediction is a GC rematch Als vs Sask. Barring substantial injuries.

You could be right. I've never been sold on KG and I see Arland falling off the screens like what happens to many Vet players who leave the teams that they made their carer with.
