Maybe he's NOT a Lemon after all..??..!!..

Post by argonaut11xx » Fri Jun 24, 2011 8:13 am

Well, after 2 decent outings maybe the Argo's have found the number #1 with Cleo Lemon...

Looks like he is going to be a "Tom Burgess/Kevin Glenn" like QB who will have a decent CFL Career...and maybe sneak in a Grey Cup in along the way.

The Good news is the apparent depth at QB, Bell looked good, and with Jyles waiting in the wings after game 9, looks like the Argo's might have an outside shot this year.

Personally i think the East is a crap shoot. MTL wont be as strong..Hamilton looks good but is weak at QB...if Winnipeg can gain some early confidence, and Buck stays healthy they could take a run as well....

Any team has a chance at first or forth....

Hopefully the Ticats end up dead last where they belong.

So let me get this straight, your quarterback is great and he's going to win the Grey Cup because he is like Kevin Glenn. But then Kevin Glenn isn't very good. Gotta love Argo fans on a pre season high!

Kevin Glenn is the best QB to play in the CFL since Danny McManus.

Truth be told, I'm going to need some convincing that Kevin Glenn has what it takes to win the big one. I don't believe that Glenn will get any respect until he can win a cup, and deservedly so.
As for what I've seen in his only action last game against Montreal, he didn't look very sharp. Had no touch on the long ball whatsoever, and his accuracy was off on short passes.

For me its pretty simple when it comes to QB's in the East...

The best by a country mile is AC....after that the drop off is pretty big....

Buck is probably second best, then Glenn, then Lemon...

that said..ive never been impressed by Kevin Glenn, and as an Argo fan...i was happy that the Ti-Cats picked him up....

The Argo's...we havent had a top notch QB since Doug Flutie.... (those Damon Allen years were painful)..the Grey Cup win Allen got was the CFL version of Trent Dilfer's Superbowl win...all Defence....

Yep
Allen did throw for over 5000 yards and was MOP in 2005.
There is one thing that no Argo fan should ever forget - Rob Ford, Doug Ford, Paul Godfrey, Phil Lind and Larry Tanenbaum are all pure evil!

Too true... And while I respect Mr. Allen's accomplishments, on Damon Allen day, when nine passes were completed for 75 yards... it's definitly painful...

Oooo Man, Argonaut11xx sure is taking a beating on this topic. :0

I think he played a damn good game against the Stamps the other night. But one game is too early to predict the outcome of the whole season.

HAHA...me take a beating?.....

not likely..ive been hit harder than Buck Pierce without doing the pussy dance (or breaking like he does).....

hehe...

well...after week 1 Cleo Lemon looks ok...and Kevin Glenn looked worse...

That said...as much i as want the "pussy cats" to fail...pulling your number 1 guy, in the first game was a really stupid move.....

Who was up against him? As IR, just about anyone that was ahead of him at any point went down to injury. DA was a great athlete, but not even close to being the most strategic QB in the CFL. If he did have the football smarts to go with his onfield ability, then we would be talking about him for the next 50 years, like Flutie will be.

The difference between pulling Lemon vs. pulling Glenn is that Lemon is learning the game and needs all the reps he can get. Lemon is 32 and if he can master the nuances of the Canadian game may give the Argos a few solid years. Glenn is a 10 year vet and when he doesn't have it, it's time to bring in the 2nd stringer. Until he can win some playoff games or a Grey Cup, I'll still consider Glenn soft.
