CFL Free Agency - Did you like your teams moves?

Post by Sir Purrcival » Sun Feb 14, 2016 11:44 pm

So, the title is pretty self explanatory.

In an effort to kick start a conversation, I will go first.

My team is the Lions.

At the end of last year, the Lions had a number of perceived weak spots but were perhaps a better team than their on-field performances demonstrated. They lost a few names and gained a few during the free agency period.

The biggest name departing IMO was National RB Andrew Harris. However they have signed several RB's including:
Jerimiah Johnson and Anthony Allen and resigned Chris Rainey.

It hurts to loose Harris especially as a national but RB's are more easily replaced than some other positions.

The Lions added some secondary strength as well as brought back receiver Nick Moore.

All in all, the Lions have solidified some areas but the place that they probably still need the most help and was not addressed was at the Defensive End position. It has been a while since the Lions have had a consistently dangerous rush end and it still looks to be the case. Their attempts to sign National Justin Capricotti were to no avail as they lost out to the Roughriders. All in all, the Lions made a few decent moves but nothing in the exceptional category. But as Free Agency goes, they weren't the biggest spenders on the market this year but they made out all right nevertheless. Wally Buono has never been known as a big spender.
