Mark "The Bird" Fidrych killed in accident.

Post by woody » Mon Apr 13, 2009 3:06 pm

I had the pleasure of seeing this guy pitch a couple of times at the old Tiger Stadium! He was a "real character"!

Strange, just this past weekend I was chatting with a couple of guys about him while on a trip down near Cooperstown NY.

Working on his truck in his driveway...

Tragic! RIP.

I believe Cookie Gilchrist is the most complete football player of all time. He belongs in the Canadian Football Hall of Fame!

That's too bad. He was funny to watch. I told my son about him and he wished he could see a video of "The Bird".

I'm sympathetic to the way he died, but I have to say that how this guy managed to remain somewhat famous based on only one good year in his playing career is beyond me.
My name is Argolio, and I approved this post.
