The problem is the only similiarity between the Chiefs and Leafs are the goons.. the skill level of the Leafs won't allow them to become a good team-- at least the Chiefs had some talent..

An interesting tidbit of info:

The last game that the Toronto Maple Leafs dressed a player old enough to have been alive when they last won the cup, was Ed Belfour on April 18, 2006 (a 5-3 win vs. Pittsburgh).

Since that day, all Leafs players were born AFTER the Leafs last won the cup!

Of all the teams that have won at least one cup, they are the only team that can say that. The second longest drought, Boston (1972), still has Mark Recchi on the team (born 1968).

I would hope so since the Leafs haven't won the cup in nearly 44 years

It was nice that once again the start time on the west coast was moved up 3 hours to accommodate the leafs and fans in Ontario who can't stay up past 10pm on a Saturday night.
Without these concessions being made leaf nation wouldn't have been able to witness the 6-2 can of whoop ass handed out by the Canucks.

Your Welcome

Isn't that interesting, every year the hoopla about the Leafs is the same and sure enough round about this time they come out west and the results are also the same. Collectively the Leafs, the Argos, the Jays and the Raptors should all be required to move to Hamilton and inflict their decades long ineptitude on all Hamiltonians:)

I wouldn't call it hoopla, I would call it tradition. You know, one of those comforting bits of sameness that you come to count on. Like a comfy pair of socks or a faithful dog. Yep thats the comparison exactly. The Leafs are like that faithful dog that craps on the rug, pees on your neighbours car tires while they are washing it, all while wagging a tail and asking you to love it and pay for it which of course you do. If that isn't the Leafs, I don't know what is.

LOL very well put. I shudder to think what we'd do if the Leafs ever became successful again, defined as more than one Stanley Cup in each 40 year period.

Even though it's only 48 games looks like the Leafs are in for another long dreary season.

Well at least the new sports czar in Toronto got rid of Colangelo. But then he is talking about bringing the NFL to Toronto. Win some, lose some.
