we sucked at a time when you can't suck
John Tortorella's best rants

When the Canucks suck, at least Tortorella will be entertaining.

This is so odd. Torts and AV switch teams. IMO bith teams need to hire a new GM.

I wouldn't want to swap GM's .... I'm not a big Gillis fan but Sather is well past his best before date

Apparantly Gillis is now listening for offers on Schnieder .... hello!

that's the goalie they should be trading, they are both top notch goalies and Gillis married Luongo 2 years ago when he signed him to that contract and made him captain :hypno: I have been playing hockey for 40 years and have never ... ever had a goalie as a captain ... jus sayin

Schnieder meanwhile has 2 years left @ 4mil per, he's younger, more affordable and given the NHL and the new CBA are punishing teams for contracts like Luongo's and many others the league already approved :hypno: .. a retroactive rule change :thdn: :?

anyhow if I was the GM Schnieder would already be playing somewhere else

As for Torts, initially I was skeptical but he wants more "Bite" ... me to

He got a 5 year deal .... who will last longer Gillis or Tortorella

I agree. Gillis should have been gone. Does Luongo want to be here? Do people want Luongo here?

With Tortorells's unique style of coaching he is sure to accelerate an almost inevitable decline of the Canucks to 2nd or 3rd rate status. Twice now, the Canucks have come so close, all the way to the final and in the end all they have to show is city riots in Vancouver.
I hope it's not another 20 years before the Canucks claw their way back to a finals appearance.

Why would Tort accelerate a decline? It sounds like he doesn't like people who coast. That's what the Canuck players seem to do alot of, especially during the play offs. Although they live on the West "Coast". :rotf:
I heard the Luongo interview. It sounds like Gillis is the one who's accelerating a decline. Who needs that shyte in the locker room. It would be nice to see Luongo start fresh, and get his old form back.
Should be fun.

That "coast" comment was truly funny.

Torts will accelerate the decline because his coaching style will drive players to first mentally check out of Vancouver then physically look to leave.
