dynasty in Toronto ??

Postby Pakalolo » Wed May 15, 2013 6:40 pm

Argos focused on bringing another Cup to Toronto

Their practice facility burned to the ground last year. Their trailers.
They've done nothing to improve. I don't even know if they spent money on new trailers.
(Rogers, I love America)..want the Argos out of their stadium for a half- assed baseball team. I've heard some dimwit wants natural grass in the sky dome. :rotf:
Better start spending money. The Argo facilities are looking non-existant. Maybe they have pop-up tents.
Plus you need your own stadium.

Do not expect to see grass in Rogers Centre anytime soon for many reason including the cost, can it be grown in an indoor facility that opens the roof on nice days, and also Rogers Centre itself is a big stream of revenue for other events at RC all year round in with artificial turf is needed and the grass will be torn up. SO although the Argos may not get the first choice of dates it will have a stadium to play.
With the Grey Cup becoming bigger than ever imagined look for more gry cups in Toronto and BC in big cities in the comforts of enclosed venues.
If for some reason that the Argos do need to find another home the CFL has enough national corporate sponsors in which will be getting involved in getting a team in the Maritimes soon and will help the Argos and the CFL with a stadium issue.
The MLS has already laid out a blue print for every situation imaginable for getting a soccer specific stadium grom a bare bones Crew stadium to the refurbishing of JedWen filed for less tjhan 40 Million for the Timbers. Something the Argos can do with lamport stadium. so pick a blue print and pick a price and tweek it to a CFL field instead of a FIFA soccer field

I think the Argos will have a good chance of repeating, all the key parts of their offense are back, plus they added Romby Bryant to the mix. The question mark is the defense, they lost a lot of talent, Armstead, Foley, McCollough, Younger. If they can find the right players to fit into Chris Jones system they should have a better regular season than last year.

Beautiful. Well said.
Read my first post. Beating WTF Buck doesn't make a Dynasty.
People who use the word "Bitchslap", makes me nervous.
The Argos want to be a class team.
Meh!!!

Another member of last years Argo secondary will be missing this year, Pacino Horne was released today. Looks like the Argos will need to score a lot of points to win games this year, at least early on.

Beating up WTF Buck and his Bummers during a pre season game doesn't make a dynasty.
This makes a dynasty

The Toronto Argonauts have locked up the league's Most Outstanding player, signing receiver Chad Owens to a two-year contract extension Tuesday.

Argonauts General Manager Jim Barker added, "Extending Chad Owens' contract helps us to create continuity and ensures another key player remains in Double Blue for the foreseeable future. Over the past several months, we have been busy putting the pieces in place to build a team that our fans and all of Toronto will be proud of for the long term. Chad is a dynamic player whose work ethic resonates within our locker room, and we are very happy he has committed to being an Argonaut."

That doesn't make you a dynasty either but it certainly will help

Win another 2 Grey Cups and we'll talk dynasty :cowboy:

I said as much but in the Grey Cup Gary Pub under worst fans. That's where we get to trash talk. I find it very subdued and polite. If it's the Grey Cup Gary Pub...we should get liquored up before, during and after our visit there!!!

How many Grey Cups constitutes a Dynasty? for me it would be minimum three in a row.

3 sounds good to me. I also think that a dynasty team shouldn't be scrapping a whole defence the very next year. I also think a dynasty team shoul be able to get more than 20,000 people to watch a game.
I cant believe the Argos had only 18,000 at the game against the Riders. Although I still believe Thursday night games suck.
